CALIPER
A horticultural method of measuring the diameter of a tree trunk for the
purpose of size grading. The caliper of
the trunk is measured six inches above the ground for trees up to and
including four inches in diameter, 12 inches above the ground for trees
greater than four inches up to 12 inches in diameter, and at breast
height (4.5 feet) for trees greater than 12 inches in diameter.
